Hi This is a hard one..What shops do you call decent? We all shop at supermarkets these days and they seem to tell us what we need to buy. I do try to shop local but its very hard when you work and need to get to the shops when they are open 9 till 5, when Tesco and Asda are open till late.
But you are right we do need more local shops for our Community including leigh.
Thank you
Towns like Leigh need shops and other facilities to draw people into them again, unfortunately shops follow the people and you have a sort of vicious circle. With the Trafford Centre so close, people will choose to got there where there are more shops and free parking rather than use the town centres, as people’s shopping habits have changed with the growth of retail parks and large out of town supermarkets. With more people using internet shopping as well, towns like Leigh need to continue to adapt to try and keep them relevant to people. The question isn’t necessarily more “decnt” shops but whether what is there can be made relevant to young people like yourself to make them want to go and spend money in the town.

Tilly,
Leigh is very lucky as the town will soon be getting two brand new supermarkets, and a cinema.
