I am sorry to say that I do see a lot of school children who appear to be overweight. We need good school meals and more school games activities.

    Hi Phoebe,
Yes I do think they are getting healthier…but there is still a great deal of work to do. I’m a big fan of Jamie Oliver and I signed his petition to improve School meals.
He does make some good points, I’m also following his new TV program on The USA and their eating habits, and they are very poor compared to us in the UK.
I have visited a School last year to try a School meal, It was not bad but they are getting better.
    Thanks

No. I sit on the panel that deals with Children & Young people issues on the council, the stats show that as children progress thorugh school the number of children who are considered obese increases.

I think learning about health should be a key area of your education, learning to eat healthily and live a healthy life will set you in good habits from an early age. Most schools signed up to the Healthy Child Programme, which has initiatives such as free fruit in schools.
