Unfortunately parks and play areas cost thousands of pounds to build and we only have a limited amount of money to spend on things like this. But we are getting better and we do need to work harder to provide more play facilities like skate parks and bmx tracks etc. The last Government did set up a Pathfinder Scheme which Wigan won an awful lot of funding to improve the parks.
In the Ashton area we have a lot of Parks. Go onto the Councils Website and look under Leisure. It will tell you about other areas too.
