Aisha, The first thing to do is work hard at school, get a good set of skills, and begin to work hard in the area you live. You could then join political party, which shares your beliefs, and work with their current councillors to understand the role more fully.
For myself, I was lucky enough to work with Andy Burnham, and with the Labour Party, which gave me a great deal of knowledge of what you as the public expect from politicians. After several years of discussing my ambitions, I finally stood for election. I lost my first election, but with determination I won my second.
