Hi phoebe … i think that every area should have their own professionally run firework display. Fireworks are far too expensive to waste in such a silly way. It is illegal to set fireworks off in the streets, it’s a crimal offence, but the Police dont take this crime very seriously as they seem to be far too busy with other issues. The Police launch Operation Treacle Toffee every year which should discourage idiots from setting fireworks off in the street. I am giving some money to a community group in my area who are organising their own firework display. This brings the community together and counteracts bad behaviour. We make sure parents donate their fireworks aswell it was an awsome sight last year and the fireworks lasted for ages.
