It depends, but the short answer is no, probably not. The Labour government spent all the country’s money and then borrowed lots more and spent that as well. All that money now needs to be paid back. So when Labour promised to build new schools there was no money to pay for it and it was costing millions of pounds (£) just to talk about it. Conservatives, like me, are now having to sort things out and unfortunately it means making tough decisions, however once the economy is sorted out and there is money in the country’s account again then things like new schools can be sorted out. At the moment we are having to pay off lots of money in interest payments on the country’s debts.
Hi phoebe,
I have seen new School’s being built in Wigan recently, Abraham Guest High School is jsut one new School, this is in Orrel, I’m lead to belive its a fantastic facility not only for the students but also for the Public too.
This is what we need all over the Borough a School which is involved with the very Community it’s surrounded by.
The School above is a specialist Sports and art’s college which brings them more funding am sure other school could learn from this model and try to build themselves a new School.
I’m afraid phoebe, lots of the funding for new schools put in place by Labour has been taken away by the current government. I hope you do get your new school, we can in no way go back to the standard of schools when I was at school in the early 1990’s.

Which is your school? Is it in Ashton? How old is it and what would you like to see?
