As a Councillor we get all kinds of things. I’ve just come off the phone from dealing with road safety issues near Byrchall High School. We also deal with complaints about bins not being emptied, holes in roads, anti social behaviour……….lots!!!!!
hi mattew … you can be leader of the council. you can be a member of the cabinet (if you are a member of the ruling group – this means who has the most seats in council as there are 75). you can be the mayor, all these carry extra responsibility and more money. you can represent wigan council on outside bodies – these are important committies which not only affect wigan but greater manchester too. there are lots of jobs and roles you can do as a councillor … the main one is to represent the people of your area as well as in and around wigan.
