I understand from the Police that burgalries are declining. People addicted to drugs have been associated with crimes to secure money to fund their drug habit. It has been a long problem over many centuries and I guess it will continue.
What we need to do is to try and understand why people turn to burgalry; help them and for repeat offenders ensure the courts deal with them firmly.
Hi aisha,
There are lots of reasons for burglaries, but drugs are the main reason why people burgle.
We don’t have enough Police on our streets to make every where safe and when your parents tell you to take care they are only making you vigilant to the issue of crime.
We do have a good Police force in Wigan and burglaries are down in the Borough.
Thanks

Some area’s have burglaries unfortunately, we need to work with our communities to make sure their houses don’t become targets.
