As I don’t represent Leigh I can’t answer this question fully, but I will pass your concerns on to the local councillors. Access to public toilets is a big issue, especially preventing their misuse.
We have public toilets in Ashton Town Centre and on the Market. Sadly, we have people using them and misusing the services provided. This is annoying to us all. I have been asking why our toilets have not been rebuilt near the Ashton parks, especially as there is more Children using the parks these days. I agree with your view, they need to be better.
I support the idea of getting agreements from local businesses like Restaurants for people to be able to use their toilets, it will cost less than building new ones and they’d be much nicer.

We don’t have enough toilets in Leigh, I sat on The Environmental panel for several years and issues of public toilets came up regularly.
In fact we promised to give the people of Leigh their very own new public toilet, I hope this has happened! and if has not please get back to me and I will try to find out why this has not happened.
I don’t agree with business providing toilets for the general public why should they?
It’s up to us as a Council to make sure the one’s we have are clean and accessible.
Please get back to me if Leigh has not got their new toilet yet?
