That’s a big question Samuel we are all waiting for the big news from the government on 20th October when they will announce the budgets and cuts for the next few years.
Good question and challenging. The former Labour Government has placed the current Government in a tricky spot. We, as a country, need to spend more on education and ensure we are up there on a world-wide scale. To do this, we need to spend more, not less. So, lets hope we can cut out things that don’t really matter and ensure our schools and the educational needs are not one of them. Will be hard work for the schools. I am Chair of Governors at my local High School and this will be an interesting debate when it happens. Good question, thanks.
It hopefully shouldn’t have an impact on your schooling, education was protected in the in-year cuts and longterm the cutbacks are aimed at taking out the wasteful spending that exists in the system. The Conservative Government are bringing in changes to the way schools work so they have more control over the money which can go directly to them instead, so that the school decides how best to spend the money. We think its important to invest in education as a good education sets you up for life & we want to see the educational provisions in the UK be the best in the world.
Hi Samuel, Thanks for your question.
The present Government wants cuts deep and fast; you will see cuts in spending on education that’s already happened with the Gov stopping Building Schools for the Future, which has had a big effect on this Council. We have lost Millions of pounds of funding due to them cutting the education budget.
I hope any further cuts will not affect your School or any other School in the Borough, but I feel they will.
