Education has become more structured and greater emphasis on course work. Also, boys did physics and girls did biology! How mad was that? I think students have a lot on their plate these days and also greater expectations at exam time. Just do your best and work hard. The school years go quickly, believe me!! (We also had the cane and punishment book in my time by the way!!!!)

Hi Samuel, Education has changed lots since I was at School. There are now SATS which play a big part in a childs development, some people like these tests some don’t.
Secondry Schools have changed a lot over the years they are now more accesable to the public, out of School Clubs etc and breakfast clubs play a big role.
I feel being at School today is more demanding than say 10 years ago, a lot more presure to get results.
My son Thomas is 13 and the size of his bag of a morning seems to be getting bigger every term.. I do feel for you all having to lug those big bags to and from School..
    Thank you for your question.

Its not that long ago since I was at school, but we used to have to do at least one foreign language for GCSE, I did French and German. We also rarely used computers and the ones we had were really old ones that couldn’t access the internet.

I cannot really answer the question as I am not a teacher, but I can tell you my opinion from what I have read and seen from school visits. I feel children in school have access to so many resources these days, when I was at school computers were only starting to come into classrooms, and there was no broadband internet.
