Hi Tweeny… yet again…rofl… This is a very topical question. Good one. I suppose if you really wanted to stop people from smoking and drinking you would tax both very highly so people would not be able to buy them or even ban them outright.
My own feelings on this subject is this, if someone wants to drink and smoke it’s up to them and no one should have the power to stop them, as long as you are old enough that is.. We live in a free country and freedom of choice plays a big park in our lives it’s when we drink and smoke too much things start to get out of hand..
The truth is you will never be able to stop both…
Thanks
If you mean could the Government stop people smoking and drinking, then I think the answer has got to be no. History has shown, especially in USA, that when the Government made drinking alchohol illegal, this forced drinking into secret locations. It also created organised crime in the distribution of drink. It was a disaster for the USA. Having said that, some countries have bans due to religious requirements and that seems to work.
I think more could be done to make younger people aware of the extreme dangers of drinking and smoking and I have seen lots of underage teenagers drunk and smoking all kinds of things. Best to stay clear – all of it presents a health hazard.
This is a tough question, as these are both legal to buy for people over the age of 18. Even so, it doesn’t prevent there misuse, and I think more education and bigger warnings on packaging will help deter people from purchasing them excessive amounts.

I neither smoke nor drink (alcohol) and don’t intend to start.
